Truck strikes guardrail, causes minor damage

Minor damage was reported to the guardrail on the Skunk River bridge on Highway 34 near Rome after a truck struck the structure.
According to a news release, the Henry County Sheriff's Office received a report of a truck hitting the Skunk River bridge on Highway 34 near Roam at approximately 10:13 a.m., on Saturday, June 29.
A freightliner straight truck, driver by Kierre Thompson, of Florissant, Mo., had a mechanical failure in the front end of the truck causing it to veer right and strike the bridge.
Minor damage was seen on the bridge and guardrail. The truck also received minor damage. No injuries were reported.
