Two arrested in New London for Domestic Assault

NEW LONDON — Authorities charged Thelma Watkins, 55, and Demontae Watkins, 22, both of New London with Domestic Assault following a report of a domestic disturbance involving a knife Thursday, July 4.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., the Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the incident in the 400-block of North Division Street in New London.
An investigation into the incident resulted in the arrest of Thelma Watkins on charges of Domestic Assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor. Additionally, authorities arrested Demontae Watkins on charges of Domestic Assault and Interference with Official Acts, both simple misdemeanors.
