MT. PLEASANT — Two cars were totaled in a collision last week after a failure to yield upon entering through a highway.
According to Henry County Sheriff’s Office, they received notification of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 34 and 260th Street shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1.
“An investigation determined Robert Smith, 46, of Mt. Pleasant, was attempting to turn onto 260th Street by crossing the westbound lanes in a 2013 Dodge Dart when he was struck by a westbound 2013 Ford Fusion driven by Collin Wilson, 24, of Danville,” a press release from the Sheriff’s Office states.
Despite the sheriff’s office’s report that both cars were considered totaled, no injuries were reported due to the accident.
Smith, the driver attempting to cross received citations for Failure to Yield Upon Entering through Highway and Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability.
