Two roads employees promoted

MT. PLEASANT — Henry County Roads Department met with the Board of Supervisors Tuesday to give an update and approve two employees.

Beginning Oct. 3, Bruce Breuer, who was a part time roads employee for various duties, will fulfill the full-time role of Mechanic.

At the same time, Harold Phren will be promoted from an Equipment I Operator to Equipment II Operator.

“Depending on our workload we might add another part time employee next summer,” County Engineer Jake Hotchkiss said.

As the weather continues to cool, so does the busiest part of road construction season.

Much of County Engineer Jake Hotchkiss’s roads update consisted on maintenance work throughout Henry County.

With the additional moisture from last weekend, blade operators continue to work within their territories to maintain roads.

Work was done on 208th Street to replace riprap around the culverts.

Work continues on the salt shed project as concrete intake was installed at the county shop.
