United Way launches volunteer hub

The United Way of Southeast Iowa is pleased to announce the launch of a new community volunteer hub. The online and mobile platform will enable agencies and organizations in the Southeast Iowa area to post volunteer opportunities on a central, easy-to-use platform. Interested community volunteers can sign up, complete training, fill out background check forms and track hours for their own reporting. Organizations and groups also will have access to reporting tools to show end-of-year volunteer hours, impact areas, and more.

With the help of GivePulse, United Way will provide agencies and organizations with free access to a range of tools, including customizable registration forms, volunteer tracking and management, and automated reporting. Additional resources include an online donation platform for each organization, an event ticketing platform for each organization, and the ability for individual companies to create employer profiles and track employee volunteerism for matching and reporting purposes.

"We're excited to partner with GivePulse to provide this new resource for the Southeast Iowa area,“ Executive Director of UWSEIA Megan Brincks said. "During our grant process this year we asked applying agencies what they needed the most help with, and how as United Way, we could assist. Their number one answer was ‘Help us find more volunteers.’ So we took that on and this Hub was created! This platform will make it easier for organizations to connect with volunteers and for volunteers to find meaningful opportunities to give back to their community. It’s a win-win for everyone, and we are glad that we are able to offer it for free to any group or organization that’s looking to make better volunteer connections!"
