MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant Municipal Utilities crews remained hard at work on water main and electric projects in Mt. Pleasant through September.
Back in March Mt. Pleasant Mayor Steve Brimhall commented at a city council meeting that all the projects associated with Henry Street would take quite some time to complete, but felt confident the finished project would be much better than when they started.
After the water main replacement and Mediacom, Lisco, and Windstream relocating their cables so Mt. Pleasant Utilities crews could finish removing power poles for sidewalk clearance, and the pouring of new concrete, Mt. Pleasant Utilities confirmed the competition of the water main replacement project on East Henry Street.
Other monthly activities for Mt. Pleasant Municipal Utilities included electric line crew employees installing decorative streetlights on East Washington Street.
Last month both crews worked to connect electric and water services to the new 19-unit condominium project on West Monroe and Marion streets. The first of these units are anticipated to be completed this month.
According to information presented at the last board meeting, through the end of September Millard’s worked on pouring concrete foundation for the new switchgear on the Adams Street Substation 15Kv Sheltered Aisle Switchgear Replacement project.
They accomplished all this alongside crews addressing electric system outages, primarily due to wildlife contact and several water main breaks.
