MT. PLEASANT — Henry County Emergency Medical Services transported one person to Henry County Health Center after a vehicle rolled over on North Lincoln Street in Mt. Pleasant.
Just before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 28, Henry County Dispatch informed emergency services of a roll over accident near 602 North Lincoln St. with one individual trapped inside their black Toyota Corolla. Mt. Pleasant Fire, Mt. Pleasant Police, Henry County Emergency Medical Services, and Iowa State Patrol responded to the incident. By approximately 11:50 a.m., crews had freed the driver and shortly thereafter transported her to the health center.
Iowa State Patrol Troopers Daniel Ramiro and Jacob Murphy examined the scene to determine how the collision occurred.
According to Ramiro, the southbound Corolla struck the front driver’s side of a parked Chevy Impala at low speeds, causing the Corolla to roll over and land upside down on Lincoln Street.
While rollover accidents within city limits are uncommon, Ramiro expressed confidence that the accident did not occur due to high speeds.
“If it were higher speeds there would have been a lot more damage,” Ramiro explained.
As Ramiro left the scene, he commented that driver appeared to be OK, but he would stop by the hospital to check on her.
