As the dust settles from county fair week and members prepare to head to the state fair, we can’t help but reflect on what an incredible week the WACO FFA chapter had in both Washington and Henry counties.
In Henry County, siblings Morgan and Cole Meyer had standout moments. Cole exhibited a barrow that earned Reserve Champion Market Hog and also showed a breeding gilt. His sister Morgan, a soon-to-be senior, had a remarkable week as she was crowned the 2025 Henry County Fair Queen. Her success didn’t stop there — she also won the breeding beef show and earned Best in Show with one of her rabbits.
Washington County Fair was just as exciting. Another soon-to-be senior, Morgan Leichty, was crowned Washington County Fair Queen and also exhibited sheep. She was joined in the sheep barn by middle school member Javan Davis and her lambs. Siblings Teage and Ryen Pepper participated in both market and breeding goat classes, while sisters Adrianna Campbell and Mariah Christiansen exhibited breeding beef projects.
In the rabbit barn, Maci Baker, Rochelle DeLaCruz, Adrianna Campbell, Ann Koch, and Ally Callejas Moran brought an impressive total of 20 rabbits — raised right at school — to the fair.
As we look back on the accomplishments, learning experiences, and unforgettable memories from fair week, we are filled with gratitude. The WACO FFA chapter is thankful for the support of families, volunteers, and programs that help our members find their place in agriculture, grow as leaders, and embrace new opportunities.
The county fair may be one of the busiest weeks of summer, but it’s also one of the best. We’re proud of our members who took part — and excited to see what’s in store at the state fair in the weeks ahead!
