MT. PLEASANT — This time of year brings sunshine, swimming pools, ice-cream and plenty of road construction.
Work on W55 North remains closed to traffic North of Wayland.
The crew is making progress on the project, however, the rain has set them a little behind schedule.
The rain has also slowed the Henry County Roads Department’s continued work on 170th street’s shoulder pull, but County Engineer Jake Hotchkiss is hopeful to lay rock by the weekend.
170th is only closed during the day while they’re working, but it will be open at night.
Bridge 105 Winfield Avenue 220th Street a would be culvert replacement, closed the road Tuesday to begin moving equipment on site.
“Just follow the detours, they can be a little longer, but we do try to make sure the detours are on paved routes,” Hotchkiss said. “If anyone does have any questions they can just give us a call.”
Beginning June 7, the southbound traffic lane on Franklin Avenue, north of Trenton, between 150th and 162nd Streets will be closed for approximately one week.
The whole route will not be closed, but drivers should plan ahead as delays are expected.
The road crews will utilize portable traffic lights to direct cars through the single lane section.
Be sure to plan extra time and be cautious of construction workers while cruising this summer.
Direct questions and concerns to Henry County Roads Department at: 319 385-0762.
