WASHINGTON — Washington County 4-H clubs came together Saturday morning and hosted a very popular pancake breakfast.
The free will donations at the event went toward 4-H enrollment fees for youth in Washington County.
The event was well supported by the community.
According to 4-H member Hunter Robertson, who raises rabbits, goats, and trains a dog for the program, it had been busy and they had gone through more than eight gallons of milk by 9:30 a.m.
4-H members from various groups around the county served food, bused tables, and even took photos.
“It’s fun to be around other club members,” 4-H volunteer photographer for the day Rylee Libe said.
The meal consisted of pancakes, eggs, sausage, and drink choices.
Pork was donated by Brenneman Pork and Merit Swine, Inc-Dennis Gratz.
Eggs were donated SASS Family Farms-Maurice 7 Sherry Sass and West Fork Farmstead-Natasha Wilson.
Hy-Vee donated the pancake syrup.
Table service was donated by Farm credit services, Hills Bank, Powell Funeral Home, Titan Pro-Spencer Shalla, and Washington State Bank.
The grills were taken care of by Brian Eakins, Duane Hammen, and the Knights of Columbus.
Additional donations were made by Fareway and Freeman Foods.
