Weekend activities available at local schools

MT. PLEASANT — New London and Mt. Pleasant community schools will welcome local supporters at events over the weekend.

Saturday, March 25, New London’s Dollar for Scholars program will host their annual auction which helps raise funds for their mission to “encourage New London Community High School graduates to complete a postsecondary education.”

The evening will consist of a live and silent auction alongside a freewill donation meal.

Event organizers will offer a kid-friendly area available during the auction.

Mt. Pleasant middle and high school music departments will offer entertainment and desserts at their Dessert Theater Saturday and Sunday March 25-26.

The event will consist of performances from the middle school show choir and jazz band, but only during the 2 p.m. show Sunday.

The rest of the talent for the event will include solo and small ensemble acts in addition to performances from InMotion show choir and both jazz bands.

Brown’s Show Fit will sell reserved table seat tickets for $10 ahead of the show.

Any remaining tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

Proceeds for the Dessert Theater will go to the Music Boosters.
