MT. PLEASANT – The well-received Wine Walk in the Woods returns to Oakland Mills Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
The inaugural Wine Walk in the Woods took place just last year, and it was a hit.
According to Conservation Director Caleb Waters, the event brings awareness to the area parks and encourages the community to use them more.
“Our goal is to get people to utilize our parks,” Waters said. “There’s a lot of people, much to my surprise, born and raised in this community or have come to the community, that have never been out here.”
Wine Walk in the Woods is an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors and stroll through Oakland Mills on the interior parks roads.
The evening will consist of more than just wine tasting, however.
Participants will enjoy browsing local winery’s, vendors, and businesses where they will learn more about the community, but also have an opportunity to make purchases as well.
Guests will check-in or register at the Nature Center’s south entrance where a free live education animal will be displayed.
This is a 21 and older only event.
To preregister visit www.mycountyparks.com or register day of at the event.
