MT. PLEASANT — Henry County Sheriff’s department arrested Dustin Beames, 38 of Winfield, Tuesday, Jan 23.
According to court documents, Officer Richard Stallman responded to a report of a disturbance in the 200 block of South Locust Street around 10:30 a.m.
“It was reported the defendant, Dustin Beames, had thrown a child into a door,” Stallman’s report states.
According to Stallman’s affidavit on the criminal complaint, “While interviewing Dustin, he was asked to empty his pockets.”
The account states that Beames pulled a metal pipe form his jean pocket and then stated it was a “pot pipe.”
Court documents state Beames admitted to using the pipe earlier in the morning to smoke marijuana, and Stallman notes in his affidavit, “The pipe smelled of marijuana.”
At that time, officers arrested Beames with the charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
Tuesday, Jan. 24, Beames pleaded guilty. He will pay a $105 fine plus crime services surcharge and court costs.
