MT. PLEASANT — Many of the road work projects in Henry County are coming to an end.
Winfield Avenue East of Mt. Pleasant is now open to traffic, ahead of harvest as County Engineer Jake Hotchkiss has hoped it would be.
Road top work on Lexington Avenue South of Mt. Pleasant has also wrapped.
This past week, Henry County roads department completed the resurfacing of River road with rock.
They worked to clean up the ditch on Lexington Avenue, and replaced two crossroad pipe culverts on 208th Street.
With summer construction coming to a close, the roads department is now working on seeding various culverts and ditches to complete the projects.
The department has prepped trucks and sawed panels this last Friday to begin concrete patching on Racine and Oasis Avenues.
They will work on these paving patches North of New London and commuters can anticipate lane closures with flaggers or traffic lights.
