Your Dream Home is celebrating 15 years in Mt. Pleasant, but its story began long before Dwayne and Heather Leichty took over from the Kiesey family. The building has been home to a furniture and flooring business for the last 50 years, and continues to evolve—and expand.
From furniture and flooring to mattresses and home accessories, Your Dream Home continues to grow— now adding cabinets, countertops, hardware, and solid surface showers to its lineup.
“We’ve always done ceramic tile showers,” Heather Leichty said. “Now we’re adding solid surface showers—using larger panels instead of tiles.”
Design help is part of the package. Customers can choose from DIY opDons or turn the whole project over to the team.
“We can handle everything from design to installation to whatever level of help the customer needs.” Heather said.
One of the largest ceramic tile showrooms in southeast Iowa, Your Dream Home emphasizes both variety and customization. Their 3D kitchen design software helps customers visualize the finished space, and a loyalty program sweetens the deal: spend $500 or more on cabinets or flooring and receive 10% off all furniture and accessories for six months; spend over $5,000 and the discount increases to 15%.
Heather, who grew up in a family involved in real estate and renovation, said using “Your Dream Home” in the name reflects the store’s mission.
“We listen to our customers, learning how they live and what they love—and we help bring that to life,” she said.
The store updates inventory regularly and tracks design trends, from mid-century modern to bold floral and timeless neutrals.
“There isn’t just one style anymore,” Heather said. “And that’s the fun part—every home is personal.”
