January
•New London School Board approved the NL Journal as the official publication.
•Obituaries this month: Grace Parker, Harold Rex Dovenspike, and Enid Mortland.
•Tiger girls and boys basketball lose to Mt. Pleasant.
•Lucky Krieger flies to San Francisco as she turns 100 to watch grandson George Kittle play with the 49ers.
•Police Officer Juan Tornero resigns.
•Tiger Shooting Sports become New London’s newest sport.
•Senior Spotlight: Amanda Renee Shane.
•Large Group Speech brings home seven Division I ratings.
•Dom Lopez reaches his 200th wrestling win on Jan. 14, quite a milestone!
•NL School Board accepts Mark McSorley and Mark Chiri’s resignations from coaching.
February
•Alex Farley and Reid Bell received a Division I Rating at All-State speech.
•Senior Spotlights: Kade Lucas Benjamin, Brenna Marie Jacobs, Camryn Elizabeth Lair, Lucas Borton, TaShaun Donaldson, and Chevelle Mills.
•Clark Elementary celebrates the 100th Day of school.
•Obituaries this month: Randyl J. Pickle, and Tony Von Broeker.
•Dom Lopez finishes second at 160 pounds at the state wrestling tournament after a stellar prep career. Others wrestling at the state tournament were Gage Burden (126), Michael Raines (170), and Trent Wilkerson (195).
•Walls are going up on the new gym.
•After beating the Danville Bears on Feb. 13, 78-48, in the first round of tournaments, on Feb. 17, the Tigers knocked off the undefeated #1 seed WACO 61-60. They went on to defeat W-MU and Marquette Catholic in overtime by one point to get a berth to the state tournament.
March
•The SE Iowa Union acquires the Journal.
•Obituaries this month: Patricia Hendricks, Pamela Hillyard, and Eli Wibstad
•The Tigers lose to the #1 seed Grandview Christian in the opening round of the state tournament 61-51 holding GVC to their lowest output this season.
•Blaise Porter named Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division Player of the Year for the third consecutive year and first team All-State.
•Student-lead production of the Little Mermaid Jr. delights theatergoers.
•Senior Spotlights: Korbin James Swenson, Emma Nye, Alexandra Farley, Blaise Porter, and Maxwell Stanbary.
•Dollars for Scholars has another successful auction for New London students.
•The New London School Board hired Damon Loyd to take over the wrestling program with the retirement of Mark Chiri after 37 years at the helm.
