The 2025 election votes are cast and counted, and the results are in. Robin Detrick, the Henry County Auditor, confirmed that there was a discrepancy in the New London School Board results. Upon further examination, the reason was due to a data entry error at the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office. The mistake was corrected and the official online results reflect the accurate numbers that were originally submitted by Henry County.
The votes cast for each candidate — school board:
· Kyle Helmerson — 367 votes
· Jessica Boyer — 321 votes
· Josh Housman — 205 votes
There were 135 undervotes. An undervote occurs when an individual selects fewer options on a ballot than the maximum number permitted for that election.
The school board is now made up of Mike McBeth, Jennifer Loyd, Becky Hays, Kyle Helmerson, and Jessica Boyer.
