A Day to celebrate the seniors

The annual Senior Spotlight celebration luncheon and awards assembly was held at New London High School on May 16, 2023. Each student could bring his/her parents or two guests.

Started five or six years ago, the gym was the site of the luncheon that featured pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans, macaroni, chips, and a cupcake. Hot dogs were also available. The meal was prepared by Allison Lair, Jennifer Campbell, Tori Kenel, Todd Palmatier, Scott Kracht, and Alaina Nelson and was funded by the High School Student Council. The non-senior members of the National Honor Society assisted with serving and cleanup.

The celebration then shifted to the auditorium for the awards assembly. The community was invited to this part and the student body was on hand. In a script organized by Kim Wagner and Jackie Housman, many presenters were on hand to give out scholarship awards. After that, each student’s was recognized with a short bio read by Mrs. Jennifer Campbell and given a small gift from the student council. It was truly a celebration of our seniors!
