Blaise Porter
Mar. 30, 2023 12:56 pm, Updated: Apr. 19, 2023 12:21 pm
Blaise was born on Sept. 22, 2004, the second son of Lindsay and Bryant Porter. He joined big brother Mason, now 22, and would welcome two more brothers, Brigham, 15 and Kellan, 12. Of course his grandparents, Bob and Gina Anderson and Wilson and Minnie Porter, were delighted with this newest member of the family.
He is a life member of the Class of 2023. When not busy at school, he can be found in the gym or on the field, But basketball is his first love. He started playing AAU as a fourth-grader. In his high school career, he has been rewarded with many honors…to name a few:
•All-State football (10th) and All-State basketball (10th, 11th, 12th)
•SEI Superconference POY for three years (BB)
•POY All-Hawk Eye (BB)
•Captain of the All-Union team (BB)
•Holder of two school records (BB)
•Two-time member of the All-Substate team (BB)
•All-District, All-Hawk Eye, All-Union — FB
In his spare time he’s either in the gym or listening to music or both. This honor roll student was also a member of the 2022 Homecoming Court.
Blaise’s proudest moment was helping his team qualify and play in this year’s state basketball tournament. His most embarrassing moment was losing to Mt. Pleasant by 20.
He singles out his mom and dad, his three brothers, and his grandparents as his special people. He says of them, “I am closer to them than anyone else. They are the reason I give my all in everything I do.”
His advice to underclassmen is “people are going to hate regardless, so do it anyway.” Blaise feels that his class is special because they all get along.
As he looks forward to both prom and graduation, Blaise knows where he’ll be next year. He has committed to Truman State to continue his academic and basketball career.
Tiger Nation wants to wish Blaise the best as he leaves NLHS. Good luck at Truman State…Go Bulldogs!
