As we welcome the arrival of spring, we must also prepare our beautiful cemetery for the upcoming spring season. In order to ensure that the grounds are well-maintained and accessible for all visitors, we kindly request your cooperation in participating in the Burge Cemetery Annual Spring Cleaning.
To facilitate the necessary mowing, trimming, and grounds work, we kindly ask that all items on or near gravesites be removed prior to Thursday, April 11th. Our dedicated board members, in collaboration with students from New London School District, will be present on April 11th to lend a helping hand during our spring cleanup efforts.
While we understand the sentimental value of certain items, we kindly request that any objects placed on the ground, obstructing the trimming process along the headstones, be temporarily removed. Rest assured, items on the headstones themselves, as well as shepherds hooks, are permitted to remain.
We genuinely appreciate your understanding and assistance in maintaining the pristine beauty of Burge Cemetery, ensuring that it remains a peaceful and dignified final resting place for our loved ones. By working together as a community, we can guarantee that the cemetery continues to serve as a place of solace and remembrance for all who visit.
If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of our board members who will be more than happy to assist you.
Once again, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and cooperation. Together, we can preserve the sacredness and tranquility of Burge Cemetery, honoring the memories of those who have gone before us.
