Check Your List — Are you ready for the Holiday Stroll?

The annual Christmas Family was selected by computer drawing on Nov. 25. This annual event is completely confidential. The Holiday Stroll committee purchases gifts for each child and adult in the family. The family was notified on Nov. 26.
On Dec. 7, “Let Your Littles Shop” is held at the Clark Elementary Cafeteria. This is a chance for elementary students K-6 to Christmas shop with prices from 50 cents to $10. Baked goods for sale, free hot chocolate and free doughnuts are available. Volunteers are needed. If you enjoy dressing up, be an elf and help children shop. Gifts are wrapped for the children after they make their selections. Help is always needed at that table. Come and enjoy the fun, see the wonderful smiles and share in the excitement. It is time to sign up for the Holiday Stroll Christmas Lighting Contest. After Thanksgiving is always a popular time to start decorating your house and grounds. The contest is open to all residential and rural customers of the municipal utility. *Sign-up is required. Paper Applications are available at the City Office or an online form is available at https://forms.gle/hoz5XMMnUhBiHUkUA. **Paper and Online Applications must be returned to the City Office by 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13. If desired the entry forms can be emailed to boeckerchelsea@gmail.com or lindavacek@yahoo.com.
Entrants are asked to have their lights on for the “Holiday Stroll” on Saturday, Dec. 14 during the Stroll. Judging will be done on Sunday, Dec. 22 and winners will be notified by telephone. A Non- Resident of New London will Judge the winners with all prizes awarded in the form of CASH. 1st Place-$150.00, 2nd Place-$100.00, 3rd Place-$50.00. The People’s Choice Poll will be posted on Facebook. The winner gets a Christmas Surprise.
New this year is a Memory Christmas tree. This tree honors Gavin Browning and all Loved Ones. Anyone is welcome to bring an ornament to honor a loved. This Tree of Love is located at Outlaw Tee’s (former Linkin Center) at 113 W Main Street. Stop by Monday — Friday 9 a.m. — 5 p.m.
Dec. 14 is just three weekends away. Beginning at 5 p.m. a host of activities will take place on Main Street. There is barely enough time to do and see everything before the Stroll closes at 8 p.m.
5 p.m. An Old Fashioned Christmas begins with the Parade taking Santa and Mrs. Claus to their Main Street home. Adorable dancing Elves from Celebration School of Dance and The New London Fire Department accompany them.
