Clark Elementary construction update

A summer beehive of activity consumes Clark Elementary this summer of 2023. The playground is undergoing major renovation. The Clark Gym is being divided into 2 classrooms, a Library and a Staff room. An immense amount of retrofitting is necessary to make these changes work. A new HVAC system is needed to upgrade heating and cooling in this area. Each classroom will need to be rewired for current and new technological innovations. This work is addition to the normal cleaning and repair work done in the classrooms. Everyone is well aware school opening is only 2 months away!!.

This special note appeared June 11 regarding the playground upgrade. “A special thank you to Tim Myers and his 8th grade son Landry. Today they donated their time and equipment to move the playground into the next phase towards completion. Prior to installing the compacted aggregate and setting the playground equipment in place the site needed to have 8” of material removed. Tim Myers provided a mini excavator and a skid loader along with their time and help to get the material removed and ready to be backfilled. Sometimes Sunday’s don’t allow for a day of rest!” The community commitment to keeping the New London Community School District educationally sound is important.
