Outdoor Youth Jamboree Big Hollow Recreation Area June 3
There is an Outdoor Youth Jamboree from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Big Hollow recreation Area in Des Moines County. Lots of free family fun outdoors. This year there will be boat rides, canoeing, self-guided story walk, live critters and shooting sports. Free lunch. For more information go to mycountyparks.com.
Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church dedicates restoration of historic organ
The Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church invites everyone to a festival worship and concert to celebrate the re-dedication of the church’s historic 1928 pipe organ on Sunday June 4 The service begins at 10 am followed by lunch, a program at 1:30 p.m. and then an organ recital by Jan Kraybill at 2 p.m.
New London Tigers Shooting Sports
Fourteen members of the Tiger Shooting Sports team are going to the State match in Cedar Falls June 6-10. kids going to state in cedar falls the week of June 6-10.
All 14 will be shooting singles. A full report on a successful first season will soon be in the news.
Henry County Heritage Museum program June 10
The Henry County Heritage Museum at 403 W. Monroe in Mount Pleasant is open on Saturdays from 1-4 p.m. Cathy and Dave Helman will give a presentation on the Underground Railroad at 2 p.m.
Dover Museum is now open on Saturdays and Sunday through the summer
The Dover Museum, chapel and depot in New London are open everyone Saturday and Sunday through October from 1-4 p.m. Stop by and enjoy letters from the second graders to the museum regarding their hands on experiences.
Tiger Pantry Schedule
Tiger Pantry is open Thursdays, 3:30-6 p.m. and Saturdays, 9-11 a.m.
