Dover Sunday’s July 16 program presents New London’s view of the Great War
On April 6, 1917, The United States formally entered the Great War in Europe by declaring war on Germany. For the next 19 months, The New London Journal chronicled the effects that the War had on the Citizens of New London and the surrounding area. Darlene Lutes and Sharon Drick will use the Journal information to highlight the stories behind the artifacts of The Great War housed in the Dover Museum. The program begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Museum, 213 W Main Street New London, Iowa
New London School Board to meet Monday, July 17
On Monday, July 17 at 6 p.m., the New London School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting. All members of the school district are welcome. A Public Forum signup sheet is available as you enter the Board Room if you wish to address the Board regarding a school issue.
Dover Historical Society will hold monthly meeting Friday, July 21
The monthly meeting of the Dover Historical Society will be held on the third Friday of July. Meet at the museum at 1:30 p.m. All members are welcome.
Dover Museum to change hours August through October 2023
The Dover Museum, chapel and depot in New London is open Sunday only 1-4 p.m. beginning Aug. 6 to Oct. 29. The museum will continue to be open Saturday and Sunday through the end of July. The museum is also open by appointment.
Tiger Pantry Schedule
Tiger Pantry is open Thursdays, 3:30-6 p.m. and Saturdays, 9-11 a.m.
