New London Wrestling Golf Tournament Sept. 16
On Saturday, Sept. 16, the New London Wrestling Boosters have scheduled a golf tournament. Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Deerwood Golf Club with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The New London Community Events Facebook page has a sign-up sheet. Contact Kathy Brumwell 319-759-3966 for more information. Plan to attend this fun event and support the New London wrestlers.
Henry County Pioneer Cemetery Day — Sept. 16
Saturday, Sept. 16 — 2 p.m. the Henry County Pioneer Cemetery Commission will host a trip to Scot Cemetery. Visit and learn the history of this pioneer cemetery. Scott Cemetery is North of Mount Pleasant on Old Highway 218/Iowa Avenue — 1851 210th Street. Bring lawn chairs. If you have questions, call 319-385-4983. In case of rain, the program will be held at Henry County Museum, 403 East Madison, Mount Pleasant.
Dover Museum Program — Sunday — Sept. 17
Sunday, Sept. 17, 1:30 p.m. at the Dover Museum, New London, welcomes Mike DeSpain. Mike will share the adventures of his grandfather in World War II. Glen DeSpain was a crew member of a B24 Liberator bomber. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn about the war through the eyes of this New London native.
New London School Board Meeting Sept. 18
On Monday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m., the New London School Board will hold its regular monthly meeting. All members of the school district are welcome. A Public Forum signup sheet is available as you enter the boardroom if you wish to address the Board regarding a school issue. All district members are welcome to attend.
