As Homecoming weekends, show your Tiger Spirit by wearing Black and Gold. At 6:45 p.m. the Crowning of the Homecoming King and Quenn will be held at the field. The game against WACO begins at 7 p.m. The homecoming dance will follow the game. Doors will open at 9 p.m. — HS gym.

Red Flag Horseless Carriage Tour arrives in New London City Park

Day three of the Red Flag Horseless Carriage tour Our keynote tour is from New London to Brighton starting and ending in Mount Pleasant. Enjoy breakfast starting at the Dover Museum followed by the starting ceremony and departure for Brighton. New London, Mount Pleasant, Rome, Lockridge, Four Corners, Germanville, Brighton, Coppock, Wayland, Trenton. Brass Era vehicles made before 1928 and their drivers will experience the beauty and hospitality over the three days of touring that are unique to this part of the state. Tour routes vary each year, and traditionally run between 75 and 100 miles per day.

Breakfast in the Park Sept. 30

All visitors and community members are invited to join the Holiday Stroll Committee for breakfast in the New London City Park shelter from 7-11 a.m. Enjoy visiting the vintage autos, talking with the drivers and their companions as well as eating a hearty meal. All proceeds from the breakfast support New London’s popular Christmas event.

New London Fall Citywide Yard Sales — Sept. 30

Citywide yard sales are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Saturday. This is the time of year to find bargain items for your home.

New London Citywide Clean up Days — Oct. 2-3

Need to get rid of those big items. New London Community Events Facebook contains list of acceptable items and those items that must not be disposed of on these days. The items must be ready to be picked up by 7 a.m. The piles may not exceed 8’W x 8’L x 3’H for each household.
