H.J. Nugen Library Activities April 21-29
Wednesday 4/26: AWE: Recycle Art 2:30-4 p.m.
National Library Week: April 23 – 29 Stop in to see what’s going on
Building Better Birders April 22 at Henry County Nature Center at 8 a.m.
This Henry County Conservation Workshop will include several popular birding activities. Beginning at 8 a.m. a Bird Hike will be held followed by an Introduction to Birds Part I, Lunch (Bring your own), ending with Introduction to Birds Part 2. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Register at mycountyparks.com by April 15 at 5 p.m.
2023 Earth Day scheduled April 22
“Invest in our Planet” is the theme for this year’s Earth Day. Begin your day at the Henry County Bird workshop. Lee County is sponsoring a Hands-On Habitat Workday. Check out your favorite organizations to see what they have planned. This is the 53rd anniversary of the modern environmental movement.
SEISC Art Workshop to be Held April 22
SEISC Art Workshop will be held at SCC - 9:30 a.m.
Tiger Shooting Sports Tournament and meet v Mediapolis
Tiger Shooting Sports Team will participate in a tournament at Fort Madison. Time to be announced. On April 25 a meet v Mediapolis will be held at Prairie Hunters at 5 p.m.
Community Work day set for April 28
On April 28, 2023, the students and staff in the New London Middle School/High School would like to thank the community for their continued support of the school by helping with outdoor projects. Students are volunteering to rake leaves, paint, wash windows, pick up rocks, complete small construction projects with adult supervision, pick up trash, and other minor landscaping projects. If you or anyone you know in the community would like help with any of these items listed above, please call the MS/HS Office at 319-367-0500 or email Kim Wagner at kim.wagner@nlcsd.org. Any supplies needed to complete the projects, like lawn bags, will need to be supplied by the residents. Our students can bring rakes and shovels.
Dover Historical Society to meet Friday, April 28
The monthly meeting of the Dover Historical Society will be held Friday, April 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the museum. All members are invited to attend as your input is welcome.
