Mar. 23, 2023 10:01 am
Emma Nye was born October 15, 2004 to Melissa and Jacob Nye. She joined siblings Isabella Nye and Leighton Lark. Her grandparents are Lynn Nye and Linda and Phil Speake.
She has been a member of the Class of 2023 since she started school. Emma is also a member of National Honor Society and has participated in volleyball, basketball, and golf. She has received many accolades for volleyball being chosen both All Hawk-Eye and All-Union. She was Captain of the All-Union team and was described by the paper as “one of the best in the entire state” as a libero and back line player. She was also 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State. She was part of the 2022 Homecoming Court.
When she has free time, she likes to carry a camera so she can be taking pictures.
Emma’s most special memory is the 8th grade class field trip. Her most embarrassing moment was freshmen year Homecoming.
According to Emma, her class is the funniest group of people. She picks Camryn Lair, Elly Manning, Natalie Burden, and Sophie Malott as her special people. They are there for her through “every laugh and every tear.”
Her advice to the underclassmen is to keep your classmates close. Emma says, “Sometimes they will be your best friends and biggest fans.”
Emma is looking forward to the upcoming golf season. She is currently undecided about what’s next. Tiger Nation will miss her prowess on the volleyball court come next fall, but wishes her great success in her next chapter.
