The New London FFA and Ag Ed students planned and produced an interactive learning afternoon for PK-5th grade students. “Day on the Farm” was also a fundraiser for the program. The fundraisers ensure the continuation of the Ag Ed program and help students attend FFA meetings to keep the organization growing and vibrant.
The Ag Foundation members and parents brought in baked goods for a bake sale. FFA members were on hand at every learning station to visit with students about the importance of each farm animal or agricultural activity.
The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. The great majority of agricultural careers do not involve farming. These careers are crucial to the success of the entire industry. Last Saturday the FFA and Ag Ed students also learned they were important teachers! Their love of agriculture and farming was transported to every visitor.
