On July 5, Foam Blaster arrived at the New London City Park.
The Nugen Library works hard to provide summer programs. Absolute Science helps with some of these afternoons.
New London children first familiar with Absolute Science when the “Bubble Man” arrived some years ago at the Holiday Stroll.
With fingers crossed everyone hopes he will make it. Of course, since the Holiday Stroll is in December, the weather can be a factor.
Founder of Absolute Science, “Rick Eugene” began recruiting several of his friends.
They worked as a team and began creating science shows and workshops. Rick and friends used their knowledge of kids and science to create science programs with high-energy, hands-on participation and FUN.
Underlying the programs is the goal of having kids leave the show (experiments) wanting to learn more after they leave.
Absolute Science debut some of its programs in 2016 and has become a booming business enterprise.
Shows and workshops occur at schools, libraries, county and state fairs. The list goes on and on. New London is fortunate to have these activities available for its students.
The library introduced Foam Blaster in the summer of 2022 and it was so popular that they decided to bring it back summer of 2023.
Students who participated last year have been anxiously awaiting its return. A perfect summer activity.
Kids wear old clothes, get wet and a little dirty playing in the foam. The library staff reminds parents to bring towels to put on the seats of their cars when they pick up the children from the fun.
The Foam Blaster shoots a dry stacking foam about 40 feet and rotates 180 degrees. The foam is non-toxic, non-staining, non-allergenic and biodegradable. It also dries and cleans up easily.
New London’s Foam Party is in the afternoon but Absolute Science has a glow option to use at night. If you have 100W Black Lights it is absolutely amazing. Our librarians have done a great job collaborating with this group of “edutainers” and enhancing the knowledge of our students.
