Fun Day celebrated at Clark Elementary

Every year, the Clark PTO holds a Fun Day with food and activities for families attending school.
On Thursday, Feb. 23 the fun began at 5:30. The ever-popular walking tacos were served. The gym held two fun activities.
Students received a raffle ticket. Later in the evening a drawing was held. The table held many age-appropriate items to win.
A book walk was also held. The book walk is a clever variation on a cake walk.
The students walk from square to square the on a large circle. When the music stops, everyone stops. The paper they are standing on has a word on it.
From a pail, a word is drawn and the student standing on the square with that word wins a book.
In rooms throughout Clark, families stop in to visit a moment and the teachers have prepared a fun math game for them to play.
The Fun Day is a good example for Clark’s goal of family participation in school events.
Families are invited to the pre-school and kindergarten round-ups that will be held on Feb. 28 and March 2.
Everyone is also keeping an eye on the progress of the new gym and trying to figure out how it will affect the carnival held at the end of the school year. As always, there is plenty to do at school.
