By Leslie Fraise and Virginia Ekstrand

Again, the weather cooperated and everyone who attended had a great time. Leslie Fraise, chief organizer and jack of all trades, posted the following. A better description cannot be written.
New London Summer Fun Day 2024 is in the books. We hope everyone that took part this year enjoyed the festivities. This is the time where I, acting for the organization, have to say a lot of thank you's.
The first thank you goes out to the community. You play such an active role in what we do all year long. You showed your generosity again this year, and we are forever grateful.
The second goes to our local businesses. We could not put this event on without the sponsorship of our local businesses. Their generosity helps us pay for the bounce houses, dunk tank, prizes, etc.
On that note I present this year's RETURNING sponsors:
- Hometown Veterinary Clinic; for 2 years now the gang has answered the call and provided a delicious cook out. No hesitation, just always a yes we'll be there. The best part is they use many of our local businesses to get their products, thereby helping other small businesses in our community. Pay it forward. We are grateful to you all.
- Short Stop — the Kempker's close their business every year to be on hand. They sponsor every year and provide space and time allowing our organization's business to take place at Short Stop.
- Woobie's — Judy Wiegard is constantly working to keep the bags flying, donating product, time, and so much more sponsorship in ways people don't see.
- Jet Stop- Heather and the gang have never said no. They always ask how they can help, and always sponsor the event.
- Dollar General — Jamie Isherwood offers her time and sponsors this event, plus many others throughout the year.
- Danville Bank — we are extremely lucky to have them as sponsors each year.
- McPheron Optometry — two year sponsors.
- Brecht Auto — two year sponsors.
- Ray's Meats — two year sponsors.
- The Hair Company — two year sponsors.
- Dr. Mark Pothitakis — two year sponsor.
- Sam Kelly (Brown Box Bakery) -two year sponsor.
- Deana Becker -two year sponsor.
- Malleo Custom Tees — two year sponsors.
- Jake and Janice Swailes have handled the bags tournament for two years.
This year NEW sponsors joined and helped sponsor the event. . We welcome them. We hope you will support them as well. They deserve a huge thank you for jumping in this year!
- Helmerson Chiropractic.
- Becker Masonry.
- Simply Golden Design.
- Mercedes Sweet Treats.
- Stacie McElhinney.
- Wilson Street Productions — thank you for your marketing skills and all the work!
There's always many people helping behind the scenes help. Without their help this event wouldn't happen. We thank; the city council, the city workers who mowed, raked sand, washed the shelter house area and made sure it was well stocked. They positioned the pylons to close the streets. The Fire Department filled the dunk tank and helped with parade. Our wonderful Police Department, Chief Wilka and Officer Todd Sines for making sure everything went safely. Our local VFW Post 7641 has started the parade every year with its Honor Guard proudly bearing the flag. I will be sending out some special thanks. If I have inadvertently left off any of our business sponsors please contact me immediately so I can correct any oversight.
Thank you all!! ‘Tis the Season couldn’t do it without all of you!
