Geode State Park participating in statewide Volunteer Day

Saturday, Sept. 28, is set for Iowa’s annual Volunteer Day. Iowans are asked to help state parks and forests improve their grounds. Iowa’s natural areas are also in need of extra hands. Spend some time with park staff and enjoy the outdoors.
Geode State Park is participating in 2024. Details follow:
Geode State Park (Danville, Iowa) 9 a.m. to Noon
Meeting Location: Park office
Park Address: 3249 Racine Ave, Danville IA 52623
Description: Geode State Park staff and friends need help installing two digging toy apparatuses in the playground near the campground. Training and tools provided!
What to Bring: A water bottle, thick gloves, sunscreen, safety glasses (recommended), bug spray, and snacks. Please wear closed-toe shoes, long pants and sleeves, and clothes/shoes that can get dirty or stained.
Other Details: There will be a place to refill water.
Volunteers Needed: 5-10 (max of 10 volunteers as the project is small in scope)
