Dec. 19, Grow and Glow Preschool closed the 2024 part of the school year with a traditional Christmas program. Students sang, recited poems, opened gifts and presented gifts to their loved ones.
Thursday morning began with the 3—4-year-old group showing off their newly learned skills. Following noon break, the 4- year group entertained the audience with song and recitation. It is amazing to note the improvement in skills and understanding gained in just one year of preschool. Clark Elementary teachers have noted the importance of preschool classes offered by Grow and Glow, the New London Community Child Care and the NLCSD prekindergarten classes. The behavior and attention skills learned in these classes contributes to formal education offered in public school.
In additions to the program, students have drawn names and selected a gift for one of their friends. These packages are opened. Each student also receives a stocking filled with activities they can enjoy over the holiday during school break. The last gift was handmade and lovingly given to Mom and Dad. This year holiday break is a full two weeks. Jan. 6 will come with a happy return to school and more studying.
