Holiday Stroll finishes the 2023 Season

The Holiday Stroll is not finished as 8 p.m. rolls around on the second Saturday of December. The Christmas Lighting Contest was judged Dec. 17 and the winners announced. Santa letters written and placed in the Helmerson Direct Delivery Santa mailbox were rushed to the North Pole. Children began receiving replies from Santa’s North Pole Special Delivery. All in all the committee did a wonderful job of keeping old traditions going and beginning new activities sure to be added to the tradition list.
A hint for Christmas 2024 — a wonderful time to enjoy the lights occurs early Christmas morning. Take a slow drive around town. In addition to the wonderful displays, an occasional light can be seen in the kitchen or living room of the homes as parents and families wait for the children to get up to see what Santa delivered. It is a great start to a festive day — not to mention it is quiet in the car and one is not supposed to answer the phone while driving!
This year’s winners are First Place ($150) Travis & Carolee Benz, 600 E Cleveland; Second Place ($100) Justin & Amanda Francis, 109 E Madison and Third Place ($50) Rhonda Powers, 402 N Maple. The People’s Choice Winner was Adam & Tanya Robertson.
The return of the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Decorating deserves special note as well; The winner of the trophy was Jet Stop.
