The phrase “it takes a village to raise a child” originates from an African proverb. The message is clear. It takes many people to provide an environment where children develop and flourish safely and securely. The New London school and community have continually supported this ideal. The Holiday Stroll works all year to provide an event on the second Saturday of December which incorporate the vision offered by this saying. The Stroll this year is Dec. 9 from 5-8. There is still plenty of work to do.
LITTLE SHOPPERS
Little Shoppers is scheduled for Dec. 2, 10 a.m. — 3 p.m. Ages Kindergarten through sixth grade may shop. Sign-up sheets will be at the door. Students may spend up to $20 on items priced $0.25, $0.50, $1.00, $3.00, and $5.00. Elves will be available to help children shop. Adults are needed to wrap gifts. A bake sale will be held with free hot chocolate and doughnuts. All proceeds will go to the 2023 Christmas Family.
