Another Homecoming is in the books and it appears that it was a great week. The theme of the week was Whack the Warriors. The annual Kickball Tournament started the festivities on Sept. 24. The championship match was between the Juniors and the Freshmen. The Juniors dominated …14-1. There were two volleyball matches and of course the football game on Friday night over the course of the week.
There were dress-up days all week with many students participating. There was all matter of black and gold items to purchase.
Mixed in was everyone’s favorite…Boom Night! The parade was great as usual. Lots of floats and a loud fire truck added to the fun. The Class of 1973 celebrated with the current Tigers, as they had a great 50th reunion.
The Juniors won the Beefcake Volleyball contest, beating the Senior boys. The Senior girls avenged the loss by winning the Powder Puff FB game. The Homecoming candidates and their parents were introduced and the little cheerleaders strutted their stuff as Kids Cheer Camp performed.
Friday afternoon the High School had games and a pep meeting in the gym. Before the game, the Homecoming King and Queen were crowned. They were Adam Allen and Holland White…Congratulations!!!!
The football game didn’t result in a “W” but the boys gave it their all.
The dance capped off the week with the theme of “Under the Sea.” The gym was decorated with lights and sea creatures. The turnout was good and the music got a thumbs up. FCS made brownies and there was a variety of snacks available. Many thought it was the best Homecoming dance in awhile.
At 11:30 p.m. it was over for another year.
Homecoming is a big undertaking and involves many staff and student groups. Everyone involved did a great job under the leadership of Melissa Bence. It was truly a great week of school spirit…Go Tigers!!!!
