Hawkeye State Archaeological Society of Iowa, Mount Pleasant Chapter
Saturday, Jan. 27, 7 a.m. — 2 p.m. the Mount Pleasant Chapter of the Hawkeye State Archaeological Society of Iowa will present an artifact show. This popular event was formerly held on the Iowa Wesleyan Campus. Henry County Public Health walk-in vaccines Jan. 29, 30, 31
Take advantage of the few remaining days in January to get this task done. The Henry County Public Health Office, 106 N. Jackson Street in Mt. Pleasant, is offering All Day Walk-In Flu and COVID EVERY weekday during the month of January. Monday — Friday, 8 a.m. — 4 p.m. Call 319-385-0779 with questions.
Saturday Feb. 3: Attend the Second Annual Banquet and Fundraiser
New London Tiger Shooting Sports 2nd Annual Banquet and Fundraiser is scheduled for Feb. 3. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets: $25. There will be a silent auction, a live auction and gun raffles. Businesses and individuals are invited to contribute items or monetary donations. Location: Mt. Pleasant VFW. Friends of Geode announce group meeting Sunday Feb. 4
Plans for 2024 activities at Geode State Park will be discussed as well as other important workdays and plans to continue restoration of the concession stand. Meet at 2 p.m. at Dodds Insurance in Danville.
Midwest Old Threshers opens campground reservations for the Reunion
Attention Campers: For those planning to renew your campsite on the Old Thresher’s Grounds during the Reunion, spots open to the public Feb. 5. You can call the office at 319-385-8937 to reserve with a credit or debit card payment over the phone.
Des Moines County Master Gardeners present seminar Saturday Mar. 2
The Des Moines County Master Gardeners are pleased to present an educational Winter Seminar. The seminar will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 2, 2024, at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. The event is open to all gardeners, whether beginners or experts. The cost of the symposium is $50 if you register by Jan. 31, 2024. The price increases to $55 in February, with registration closing on Feb. 20, 2024. A buffet-style lunch at the SCC cafeteria is included with the registration fee.
