Saturday Feb. 3: Attend the Second Annual Banquet and Fundraiser
The New London Tiger Trap team 2nd annual fundraising banquet at the Mount Pleasant VFW starting at 5:30 p.m. for social and dinner at 7 p.m. The meal is 2 meats, 2 sides, a roll and dessert. There will be a silent and live auction along with gun raffles. 100% of the proceeds will go to the team. Friends of Geode announce group meeting Sunday Feb. 4
Plans for 2024 activities at Geode State Park will be discussed as well as other important workdays and plans to continue restoration of the concession stand. Meet at 2 p.m. at Dodds Insurance in Danville.

STEM Fest at the West Burlington SCC Campus from 10 a.m.-1p.m. Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and math, through dozens of exhibits and hands-on activities.
Des Moines County Master Gardeners present seminar Saturday Mar. 2
The Des Moines County Master Gardeners are pleased to present an educational Winter Seminar. The seminar will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 2, 2024, at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. The event is open to all gardeners, whether beginners or experts. The cost of the symposium is $50 if you register by Jan. 31, 2024. The price increases to $55 in February, with registration closing on Feb. 20, 2024. A buffet-style lunch at the SCC cafeteria is included with the registration fee.
