STEM Fest at the West Burlington SCC Campus from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and math, through dozens of exhibits and hands-on activities.
Clark Elementary Kindergarten Round Up
It is that time of year, Clark Elementary begins its search for all of the upcoming kindergarten students for the 2024-2025 school year. We have scheduled Parent’s Night Open House from 5:30-7 p.m. In the kindergarten rooms at Clark Elementary. Entry to the building will be at the south doors. If your child will be five years old by Sept. 15, 2024 then we would love to have you attend our parent night. Please bring your student with you so he/she will have an opportunity to meet the teachers and see the classrooms. If you are not sure if you are on the roster already, please call 319-367-0507. We look forward to seeing you.
Clark Elementary Preschool Round Up
Preschool Round Up parent night open house will be held from 5:30 — 7 p.m. in the preschool room at Clark Elementary. Entry to the building will be the south doors. If you have a child that will be 4 yrs. old by Sept. 15, 2024 then he/she would be eligible to attend. This is a tuition free preschool that is taught by a licensed teacher. Please call 319-367-0507 to get your students’ names on the roster if you have not already. We would love for you to bring your child to the open house. Hope to see you then.
Henry County Conservation Trivia Night at the Nature Center
Feb. 16 Come to the Nature Center and test your knowledge of nature, popular culture and random facts! Bring a team or join a team once you arrive. Snacks are provided and all ages are welcome. Preregistration is required. Event is scheduled 6 — 7:30 p.m.
Sweetheart Bingo Sunday Feb. 18
Attend this popular Holiday Stroll fundraiser at the New London Community Center. 1-4 p.m. Bring your sweethearts and begin the year with tons of fun.
New London Performing Arts presents Goosebumps
Set your calendar for March 1 & 2. Goosebumps the Musical: The Phantom of the Auditorium. Chose Friday 7 p.m., Saturday 2 p.m. or 7 p.m. Join the fun.
Des Moines County Conservation dates for OWL PROWL during February
February is Owl Month. The public can participate in the owl prowl on Feb. 14, 21, and 28.
As space is limited for public programs, we encourage interested individuals to reserve their spots by calling 319-753-5808.
Des Moines County Master Gardeners present seminar Saturday Mar. 2
The Des Moines County Master Gardeners are pleased to present an educational Winter Seminar. The seminar will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 2, 2024, at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. The event is open to all gardeners, whether beginners or experts. The cost of the symposium is $50 if you register by Jan. 31, 2024. The price increases to $55 in February, with registration closing on Feb. 20, 2024. A buffet-style lunch at the SCC cafeteria is included with the registration fee.
