Dover Historical Society will meet Friday, March 22
The monthly meeting of the Dover Historical Society will be held Friday, Mar. 22 at 1:30 p.m. in the museum. This is the first meeting of the new season. Please attend and present your ideas for a great 2024 year. April 19 is the date of the Hands On visit by the Clark Second Graders.
New London Dollars for Scholars 2024 Auction
Saturday, March 23 the New London Dollars for Scholars is hosting an auction at 5 p.m. at the New London High School Gym. The event begins at 5 p.m. with a free-will offering dinner. Maid rites and sides are made by the New London Foods and Consumer Science Class. The chapter awards scholarships to any graduating senior or any previous graduate within the past ten years returning to postsecondary education-regardless of financial need, grade-point average, or extracurricular activities. The only requirement is that the student apply and then attend college, community college, or technical school.
Danville Community Palm Sunday Service March 24
The Danville Area Churches will host their annual Palm Sunday Service Sunday, March 24 at Danville Congregational UCC. The service begins at 6:30 p.m. with Pastor Dave Mixon of Long Creek United Methodist bringing the message. The special Love Gift Offering will go toward the Danville Food Outreach account for Thanksgiving Food Bags and other food needs. A community choir will practice Sunday, Mar. 17 at 5 p.m. at First Baptist and Sunday, March 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Congregational UCC. Nancy Edmisson will direct the choir.
Public Hearing: Proposed Property Tax Levy Fiscal Year July 1, 2024 — June 30,. 2025
On Monday, March 25, 2024 at 6 p.m., a hearing will be held to discuss the proposed property tax levy for next school year. The hearing will be held in the New London Community School District — Boardroom, 106 West Wilson St., New London, IA 52645.

Henry County Conservation Department to hold Easter Egg Hunt
Thursday, March 28, the Henry County Conservation Department invites you out for not only an Easter Egg Hunt, but also an antler hunt at 4:30 p.m.! Deer shed their antlers in the Spring. Aa few have been hidden around the park along with the Easter eggs! 2593 Nature Center Drive! All ages are welcome!
NLCSD Public Forum — 4 day School Week
The Public Forum was livestreamed and a video produced. This video is now available as a YouTube link. The 4-day site is now linked to the school site: https://sites.google.com/nlcsd.org/nlcsdfourdayschoolweek/home. The information links and the survey for parents, teachers, support staff, and community members are also available. Students will be surveyed next week. Paper copies of the surveys are also available at the elementary, high school and administrative offices. Please keep in mind that the district is simply collecting information at this point in time.
