New London Performing Arts “Twelfth” Treats & Trivia Fundraiser April 19
Register Now!!! This year’s Treats and Trivia fundraiser will be held April 19 at the Clark Elementary Cafeteria. This year’s theme is Banyard Bash and fun is guaranteed. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Trivia starts at 6 p.m. There are 8 rounds of Trivia & Delicious Food. There is a $250 fee per table of 10. To register, go to the New London Performing Arts Facebook page. Use the QR code or the site registration address. Some of the prizes are pictured as well. All proceeds benefit the New London Performing Arts Program.
Henry County Habitat for Humanity builds its 31st home
Henry County Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers to help build the 31st home, located at 400 East Henry in Mt. Pleasant. They build exclusively on Saturdays from 8:00am to 2:00pm. All necessary tools, water, and lunch are provided. If you would like additional information, please contact Lisa Diener at 319-931-0656.
New London Lions offer Breakfast for Dinner Saturday April 20
The New London Lions Club will hold their popular Red Barn Breakfast Fundraiser at Clark Elementary Cafeteria on Saturday April 20 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. The meal is $12 and includes: 2 biscuits with gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage patty, hashbrown patty, and a beverage (water, juice, milk, or coffee.) Come and enjoy a hearty dinner and have an amiable visit with community members.
Henry County Conservation Prairie Exhibition April 23
Changes have begun at the Outdoor Classroom. A Prairie/Oak Savanna ecosystem is being added. Tuesday, April 23 4-6 p.m. everyone is invited to see the progress and learn why this ecosystem is so important to Iowa. Play fun games and meet the AmeriCorps team that made the prairie possible. Preregistration is appreciated but not required. The program is outside so dress accordingly. Become part of this rare opportunity to monitor the succession of an ecosystem from Day One to its Climax population years from now. Call 319-986-5067 to register or ask questions.
New London to hold Community Day April 26
Do you need help with those pesky spring chores? April 26 is the annual community day. Students are available for yard work, painting, cleaning windows, and miscellaneous chores. Call Kim Wagner at 319-367-0500 or email her at kim.wagner@nlcsd.org to get on the list. NO JOBS INVOLVING POWER TOOLS are permitted. All trash will stay at the residence to be picked up on normal city route days. Don’t miss this chance to spruce up the community and allow the students to say Thank You.
