Iowa Wesleyan announces building viewing hours
The Chadwick Library will be open Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday Nov. 4 from 9 a.m.—5 p.m. The books will be given away to the public during those hours on a first come first served basis. Watch closely for Open House announcements to visit other buildings and say goodbye. Pictures may be taken, but no items may be removed from the buildings other than the library during the stated times. Be respectful of the new owners as this is a unique opportunity. The Southeast Brass Quintet will perform in the Chapel Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
VFW Post 7641 Auxiliary hosts Veterans Brunch — Nov. 5
VFW Post 7641 Auxiliary will host a Veterans Brunch from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at 802 East McKinley in New London. A free will donation will be taken for an area Veterans project Menu includes grilled pork loin, cheesy potatoes, green beans, egg casseroles, pastries, fruit plus biscuits and gravy.
General Election, Tuesday, Nov. 7 — 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Check to find your correct voting precinct. This important City-School election has PPEL and penny sales tax questions as well as school board selections. City councils, SCC directorships and Henry County candidates are included. Expect many pieces of paper. Your vote is important on each issue.
“You Go, Goddess!’ opens Nov. 10 -11
The Performing Arts Theater Group at New London MS/HS will perform three shows. Friday night Nov. 10 at 7 p.m., Saturday Matinee at 2 p.m., Saturday night at 7 p.m. This hilarious adaptation of Greek mythology features girl power in the guise of Calliope. Hercules daughter, shy and socially awkward becomes the hero, saves her father and humanity. Don’t miss every action-packed moment of this fun play.
VFW Post 7641 and Auxiliary host Veterans Day Observance Nov. 11
VFW Post 7641 and the Auxiliary will host a Veterans Day Observance Saturday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Post home, 802 East McKinley. The Auxiliary will serve light refreshments following the service.
