Dover Historical Society Board meets June 28
The monthly meeting of the Dover Board will be held Friday, June 28 at 1:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. Bring your ideas and help plan for future activities.
June 28 Des Moines County Conservation Hike
Des Moines County Conservation invites you to Hike A Park at 3 p.m. This hike is open to everyone and is completely free to join! There’s no need to sign up; just come to Starr’s Cave Park & Preserve and be prepared to hike up to 3.5 miles. This hike will be led by our experienced naturalist, Jacklyn Goodman, who will guide you through the park and answer any questions you might have. Dress appropriately for the weather — wear comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and bring a water bottle.

Henry County Heritage Trust presents 19th Century Photography, With David Van Allen & Haven Noble at 2 p.m. at the Henry County Heritage Center Museum 403 West Madison Street — Mount Pleasant. What is the difference between daguerreotypes, ambrotypes and tintypes? Bring your own examples for identification. And, what cameras were used for each process? David and Haven will help explain!! Kim’s Upcycled Krafts July 2 at New London Nugen Public Library
Upcycling is the act of taking something no longer in use and giving it a second life and new function. In doing so, the finished product often becomes more practical, valuable and beautiful than what it previously was. Join Kim and l earn the techniques of upcycling and reuse objects rather than disposing of them.
