Des Moines County Conservation’s Free Shooting Safety program

Aug. 6 5:30 — 7:30 p.m.: Learn gun safety and basics at the Big Hollow Shooting Range. Participants will have a safety briefing followed by hands-on opportunities to learn about BB guns, rifles, and shotguns. There will be a second event on Aug. 14 from 5:30 p.m. — 7:30 p.m. as well. Henry County Conservation Introduction to Deer Disease

Aug. 10 — 11:30 a.m.: DNR CWD Specialist, Catherine Cummings will discuss two common deer diseases, CWD and EHD and how we can reduce disease spread across Iowa. The presentation includes a practical demonstration of lymph node removal for lab testing.
