NL High School Registration
NL Parents/Guardians: We still have a lot of students who are not registered for the 24-25 school year! Please log in to your parent account on PowerSchool and complete this ASAP so that we have correct contact info, class numbers, etc. Returning students should have 5 forms to complete and new students have 11 forms. If you have a student athlete, the concussion form is included in the online registration in Form R5 and that MUST BE electronically signed before participation. Aug. 10 Henry County Conservation Introduction to Deer Disease
10 — 11:30 a.m.: DNR CWD Specialist, Catherine Cummings will discuss two common deer diseases, CWD and EHD and how we can reduce disease spread across Iowa. The presentation includes a practical demonstration of lymph node removal for lab testing.

Iowa State Fair Aug. 8 — 18
Catch FAIR FEVER at the Iowa State Fair, Aug. 8-18, 2024. With 11 groovy, fun-filled, action-packed days of food, games, rides and music — there’s something fun for everyone! This year, the Iowa State Fair has added more ways for people to enjoy all 11 days.
Aug. 13 BACK TO SCHOOL HEALTH FAIR
Henry County Public Health 4 p.m. — 7 p.m. today in Manning Hall, at St. Alphonsus Church, 607 S. Jackson Street in Mt. Pleasant. Check off all your student’s back to school health needs in one night; plus, enjoy community resource tables, kids activities, and giveaways!
- Immunizations (required for K, 7th & 12th graders)
- Dental Screening (required for K & 9th graders)
- Vision Screening (required for K & 3rd graders)
- Lead Testing (required for Kindergarten)
- Sports Physicals available for $25/cash only
- Aug. 14 Des Moines County Conservation’s free Shooting Safety and Basics
5:30 p.m. — 7:30 p.m. at the Big Hollow Shooting Range. Participants will have a quick safety briefing followed by the opportunity to learn about BB guns, rifles, and shotguns hands-on. Register at 319-753-5808 and request a ride from Starr’s Cave Nature Center if you need one.
Dollars for Scholars
Attention 2024 Dollars for Scholars recipients- Please go online and accept your scholarship if you have not done so. We cannot send the scholarship money to the college until you have "accepted" the scholarship on our webpage. If you have accepted your scholarship-thank you -and remind your friends to get it done!
ACCEPTANCE INSTRUCTIONS: Go to our website newlondonia.dollarsforscholars.org Log on and go the "My scholarships" section. Click on the “Accept your Scholarships” button and follow the instructions You will need to list the college you are attending, your student ID# and the date that school is scheduled to start this fall. If you do not have your student ID#, use 0000. Also please let us know if you are not currently planning to attend college, so we can earmark those funds for you in a later year.
