Nov. 16 — Winfield Historical Museum hosts Clock Program
10:30 a.m. — The Winfield Historical Society & Museum is hosting a Clock Program at the Winfield VFW. Michael Lynch, antique clock collector & restorer will present. A soup lunch will follow the program and this event is a free will donation.
Nov. 17 — Long Creek United Methodist Church hosts Thanksgiving Service
6:30 p.m. The Danville Community Thanksgiving Service will be held at Long Creek United Methodist Church/ Pastor Steven Parker will deliver the message. Donations of canned meat, cheese or meat soup for the Danville Food Pantry will be collected. The five area Danville churches invite everyone to join in this community worship
Nov. 17, 19, 21. 26 — Escape the Nature Center
Escape the Nature Center activity planned at the Oakland Mills Natural History Museum! Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through the month of November, get locked in the Nature Center and solve clues to escape within an hour! Up to 8 people per team, recommended for ages 7 and older. All proceeds go to the live animal fund. Preregistration is required. Register at mycountyparks.com by 5 p.m. on the day you wish to attend. Sunday time slots are 11 a.m.-noon, 1-2 p.m., 3-4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7 p.m. There are a few slots left.
Nov. 22 — Dover Historical Society Board meeting
1:30 p.m. The Dover Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting Friday, November 22. This is an important meeting as final plans will be made for the Holiday Stroll. All members are welcome.
Nov. 28 — Community Thanksgiving Dinner
11:30 a.m. — 1 p.m. — The Thirteenth Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held. The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, stuffing, rolls, and dessert. The meal is free. Donations are accepted to cover the cost of the supplies needed to make the meals. Volunteers are also needed to deliver meals to homes. Call or text Annie Powell at 319-457-0110.
