Nov. 21. 26 — Escape the Nature Center
Escape the Nature Center activity planned at the Oakland Mills Natural History Museum! Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through the month of November, get locked in the Nature Center and solve clues to escape within an hour! Up to 8 people per team, recommended for ages 7 and older. All proceeds go to the live animal fund. Preregistration is required. Register at mycountyparks.com by 5 p.m. on the day you wish to attend. Sunday time slots are 11a-12p, 1p-2p, 3p-4p. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7pm. There are a few slots left.
Nov. 22 — Dover Historical Society Board meeting
1:30 p.m. The Dover Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting Friday, November 22. This is an important meeting as final plans will be made for the Holiday Stroll. All members are welcome.
Nov. 27-29 NO SCHOOL
NLCSD will be closed Wednesday through Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Nov. 28 — Community Thanksgiving Dinner
11:30 a.m. — 1 p.m. — The Thirteenth Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held. The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, stuffing, rolls, and dessert. The meal is free. Donations are accepted to cover the cost of the supplies needed to make the meals. Please let Annie know if you would like to donate desserts or rolls. Volunteers are also needed to deliver meals to homes. Call or text Annie Powell at 319 457 0110.
Dec. 7 — Holiday Stroll “Little Shoppers”
10 a.m.-1 p.m. The Holiday Stroll Committee needs volunteers for the annual “Let Your Littles Shop” event. Held in the Clark Elementary School Cafeteria, children shop from a large selection of items. This is their chance to choose Christmas gifts for their special loved ones. Seventh grade students through adults are needed in all sorts tasks. Dressing as an Elf is optional but are in high demand to help little ones shop. Do you like to wrap presents? Help is always welcome at this table. The wonderful smiles of joy and thanks are a good way to start the holiday season.
Tiger Pantry
Tiger Pantry will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28. The pantry will be open regular time Saturday, Nov. 30 9-11 a.m.
