Dec. 7 — Holiday Stroll “Let Your Littles Shop”
10 a.m.-1 p.m. Let your Littles Christmas Shop at New London’s Clark Elementary School! Students Kindergarten through 6th grade can shop for items. Baked goods will be on sale and you’ll find free hot chocolate and free doughnuts! This is a chance for elementary students to Christmas shop with prices from 50 cents to $10. Watching the youngsters decide on gifts for their loved ones will bring a smile of joy to you. Start the holiday season with a pleasant feeling.
Dec. 7 — Jeremy Fulk Wrestling Tournament
9 a.m. New London High School boys will host the Jeremy Fulk Tournament. This annual event is important to our community. Volunteers are needed. Check the Facebook site to sign up. This is a VERY busy weekend and ALL hands are needed.
Dec. 8 — Tiger Cub Wrestling Tournament
9 a.m. The Tiger Cub Tournament follows the Jeremy Fulk Tournament. This is a very important event and ensures New London’s continued prominence in school wrestling. Volunteers are also needed for this event. This is a hectic time of year but everyone’s help is needed. When signing up to help please make sure you are signing up for the correct day you wish to sign up for. If you can help both days, it would be wonderful.
Dec. 8 — New London Specialty Care Holiday Open House
2-4 p.m. Families and the New London Community are invited to join our residents for a festive gathering. Enjoy the presence of Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Indulge in cookie decorating, drinking hot cocoa and writing letters to Santa.
Dec. 10 Henry County Conservation presents Women, Woods, Wine, Ancient Tools
5:30-7 p.m. Before the modern day, ancient residents of Iowa used many tools to survive and thrive. Use the same tools now and see how you compare. This Women. Woods. Wine. event starts with a social time with alcohol provided, and you can also bring your own beverage. 21+ only. Please Preregister by Dec. 6
Dec. 11 and Dec. 15 VFW Auxiliary will hold a Bake Sale
5-7 p.m. The VFW Auxiliary Annual Holiday Bake Sale. Wednesday, Dec. 11 & Saturday, Dec. 14, at VFW Post 7641, 802 East McKinley New London. Proceeds will be used provide scholarships to NLHS seniors.
Dec. 13 Henry County Conservation hosts Trivia Night
6-7:30 p.m. Come test your knowledge of nature, popular culture, and random facts! Bring a team of 2-8 people. All ages are welcome. Preregistration is appreciated but not necessary. You can register by emailing shansen@henrycountyconservation.com with your team name and number of team members.
Dec. 14 — Southeast Iowa Symphony New at the Chapel Auditorium
3 p.m. The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra will present “Hollydaze” in the Chapel Auditorium, 601 North Main Street in Mount Pleasant! Enjoy a program bursting with joyous carols, heavenly choirs, and lots of HOLIDAY CHEER! Bring friends and!
Dec. 14 — New London Holiday Stroll
5-8 p.m. Christmas is magical in New London, Iowa with the Annual New London Holiday Stroll from 5 p.m. — 8 p.m. along Main Street! Leading the Santa Parde will feature Dancing Elves from Celebration School of Dance will lead the Santa Parde. The New London Fire Department will bring Santa and Mrs. Claus to Santa’s House. “Stroll” Main Street and enjoy food, decorated Christmas trees, special activities and camaraderie everywhere.
Dec. 15 — Winfield Historical Society and Museum Open House
1-3 p.m. Sunday Dec. 15 and Monday Dec. 16, 10 a.m.-noon, the Winfield Historical Society and Museum invites you to a Holiday Open House. Enjoy Wassail and Treats while touring the museum!
Dec. 15 — New London Public Library will wrap gifts for you
1-5 p.m. The New London Public Library is gift wrapping. They will be in the library basement. Let them wrap your gifts for you! This gift wrap clinic is a fundraiser. The Library has a wish list and the funds will raise extra money. If you don’t like wrapping or don’t have time to wrap or just plain don’t want to do it, we can do it for you! The fee is $2 per gift — checks/cash only. Additional donations are welcome!
Dec. 15 — Danville Annual Christmas Walk
1-5 p.m. Danville, Iowa shows its holiday spirit with the annual Danville Christmas Walk. This event is sponsored by the Danville Lions Club. Proceed north on Main Street to the Danville Community School. The Vendor Show is a “don’t miss” affair. Happy Holidays!

Tiger Pantry hours return: Thursdays — 3:30-6 p.m. Saturdays — 9-11 a.m.
