April 4: New London Lions “Breakfast for Supper”
5:30-7:30 p.m. Join the Lions for a community breakfast for supper on Friday in the Clark Elementary Cafeteria. This fundraiser provides help to the Tiger Pantry, vision tests for students and many more activities throughout the year. Show your appreciation for all they accomplish.
April 5: New London Class of 2025 Promenade
7 p.m. “Under the Stars” is the theme of the Class of 2025 Junior-Senior Prom. The Promenade begins at High School Gym. Parents and the community look forward to the Promenade. The Juniors, Seniors and their guests will then proceed to the Clark/MS gym to dance and visit from 8-11 p.m. Post Prom doors will be locked at 11:45 to complete this special evening with fun and prizes.
April 7: Masonic Lodge Fundraiser for Scholarships
The winner of the raffle of the New London Masonic Lodge #48 Fundraiser will be held on this date. Still time to buy raffle tickets $10 each. Win a Henry Golden Boy 22. Contact any member of the lodge.
April 8: Brown Bag Lecture Series continues
Noon: The Harlan-Lincoln House announces the second meeting of the Brown Bag Lecture Series at the Bell Center, formerly the IWC Chadwick Library. The lectures will take place in the room immediately to the right of the front entrance. Kay Weiss, former Burlington Public Library Director will teach a beginning genealogy workshop entitled "Who Do You Come From?” Bring something to take notes. The Brown Bag lectures are free of charge. Donations to Harlan-Lincoln House are welcome.
April 12: Henry County Conservation presents Fungi Foray
1-3 p.m. Have you ever eaten mushrooms straight from the woods? Experienced mushroom hunters will show you ow to tell the difference between poisonous, edible and delicious fungi. After foraging, take home your haul and some recipes as well. This event is outside, so dress accordingly. Preregistration is appreciated. Call 319-986-5067
April 13: Palm Sunday Services
6:30 p.m. Danville Community Palm Sunday Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 302 S Main, in Danville with Pastor Jacob Yocum of Danville Methodist speaking. The community Palm Sunday Service is a joint service involving the 5 area churches- First Baptist, Faith Baptist, Congregational UCC, Danville Methodist and Long Creek United Methodist. An offering will go to the Danville Food Outreach. Everyone is welcome.
